- HMPL Aminophylline Injection (25 mg/mL) is a methylxanthine bronchodilator used as an adjunct in severe asthma and COPD exacerbations unresponsive to inhaled therapy. It relaxes bronchial muscles to improve airflow and is given with careful IV dosing and monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Indications / Uses:
- Complicated skin and soft tissue infections (cSSTI)
- Complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI)
- Community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) when alternatives are unsuitable
- Precautions / Side Effects:
- Black Box warning: increased mortality risk in certain populations
- Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- Serious (rare): Hepatic dysfunction, hypersensitivity reactions, infusion-related complications
- Monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment
