- Ppneta 40mg is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce gastric acid secretion. It is primarily used when oral administration is not feasible, especially in acute care settings.
- Indications / Uses:
- Peptic ulcer disease (PUD)
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Erosive esophagitis
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
- Stress ulcer prophylaxis in ICU patients
- Gastric protection in NSAID therapy
- Common Side Effects:
- Headache, flatulence
- nausea, diarrhea
- Injection site reactions (pain, redness)
- Rare but Serious:
- Hypomagnesemia (long-term use)
- Clostridium difficile–associated diarrhea
- Vitamin B12 deficiency with prolonged use
- Acute interstitial nephritis
