• Vamocin 500mg contains Vancomycin, a glycopeptide antibiotic used to treat serious Gram-positive bacterial infections, including MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and other resistant strains.
• Indications / Uses:
  • MRSA and other multidrug-resistant Gram-positive infections
  • Bloodstream infections (bacteremia)
  • Endocarditis
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Meningitis (with other agents)
  • Pneumonia (hospital-acquired)
• Common Side Effects
  • Infusion reactions (Red Man Syndrome: flushing, rash, hypotension)
  • Phlebitis
  • Nausea, fever
• Serious:
  • Nephrotoxicity (dose-dependent, especially with other nephrotoxic drugs)
  • Ototoxicity (rare, associated with high serum levels)
  • Neutropenia
  • Hypersensitivity reactions
• Storage:
  • Store the dry powder vial at 20–25°C
  • After reconstitution, use immediately or store refrigerated (2–8°C) for up to 96 hours
