Product’s Details:
- Cocine Vancomycin Hydrochloride Injection is a glycopeptide antibiotic used to treat serious or life-threatening infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria. It is especially indicated when other antibiotics are ineffective or not recommended.
- Mechanism: Vancomycin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it highly effective against resistant bacterial strains, including MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
- Indications:
- Infections of the heart lining and valves (endocarditis)
- Bone infections (osteomyelitis)
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Bloodstream infections (septicemia)
- Pneumonia caused by Gram-positive organisms
- Storage & Handling:
- Store vial below 25°C
- Protect from light
- Reconstitute with Sterile Water for Injection
- Further dilute with 5% Dextrose or Normal Saline for infusion
- Use diluted solution within 24 hours if refrigerated
- Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment
- Monitor serum levels in prolonged therapy
- May cause infusion-related reactions (e.g., Red Man Syndrome) if administered too rapidly
